Volunteer as a group

Thank you for your interest in volunteering at the Santa Ana Zoo. Volunteer opportunities for groups depend on the size and goals of the group volunteering.

We are not able to provide walk-up volunteer opportunities.

Special Events

Who? Student-led and Community groups with 5-25 individuals.

• City of Santa Ana One-time Volunteer Waiver required for each participant
• Shifts available on the day of the event
• Tasks may include:
  • Leading an activity or craft station for zoo guests
  • Staffing an information table
  • Helping in the set-up or take-down of an event

Small Groups

Who? Community organizations looking to provide skill building opportunities for their clients.

• In-person walk-through with group lead required
• Shifts available every day from 10am - 4pm
• Tasks may include:
  • Beautification of the zoo
  • Animal observations

Corporate Groups

Who? Corporations looking for a team building day of service at the Zoo.

• City of Santa Ana One-time Volunteer Waiver required for each participant
• Shifts arranged with each group individually.
• Tasks may include:
  • Moving dirt into or out of gardens or habitats
  • Creating enrichment for our animals
  • Setting-up or taking-down event decorations
